The police commissioner William J. Bratton said in a recent interview with WCBS, he blames rap artists for promoting violence in their music, “The crazy world of the so-called rap artists, who are basically thugs that basically celebrate the violence they did all their lives….Unfortunately, that violence oftentimes manifests itself during their performances.”
Mayor Blasio said at a news conference in reference to the shooing that he disagrees with Bratton, “I think that’s an American problem and beyond all of the issues of law which we have to change, obviously laws around gun safety in particular.”
