By now I am sure that everyone has seen the video of the brawl that took place on Spirit Airlines only about a week ago. It is to my understanding that the fight took place because someone was playing their boombox too loud and some people for obvious reasons, were not happy about that.
So the women started getting to it. It went on for a little while, while in air, until some passengers and flight attendants got involved.
My whole thing is that none of these participants got arrested. No charges, just one citation. I’m thinking the reason being is that no one was seriously injured. I mean, does that make it right? Just because no one was physically hurt?
I spoke to a couple of men about this and they all feel the same way. They didn’t get arrested because they were women. Let it have been a group of men doing that. Law Enforcement would have been waiting for them once the cabin door opened. This is what some people have suggested would have happened if the genders were flipped.
I’m not saying that it’s not true because I don’t know what it’s like being a young man or how the experiences vary, but I just think it’s unfortunate that they even have to think like that. But I guess it is what it is and people go through and see different kinds of things in life.
What do you guys think? Should they have gotten arrested? If they were men, would being arrested and charged not even be a doubt? Do you think the Airline will soon sue these passengers?
