GQ magazine dedicated its 10th Love, Sex and Madness issue to reality star and mogul Kim Kardashian. Kim spoke on a number of things in her interview, but what stood out the most was her calling Taylor Swift out!
In Kanye West song “Famous” from his 7th studio album, one of the lines of the song reference Taylor Swift: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous.”
This is in reference to when West stole Swift shine during her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Music Video awards.
Apparently Swift wasn’t too happy with West line in Famous; nevertheless, Kim stood up for her man and told her version of the truth behind the Kanye West and Taylor Swift beef.
This is the excerpt from her GQ interview when asked about Taylor Swift:
“She totally approved that,” Kim says, shaking her head in annoyance. “She totally knew that that was coming out. She wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t. I swear, my husband gets so much shit for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved.
“What rapper would call a girl that he was rapping a line about to get approval? totally gave the okay. Rick Rubin was there. So many respected people in the music business heard that [conversation] and knew. I mean, he’s called me a bitch in his songs. That’s just, like, what they say. I never once think, [gasping] ‘What a derogatory word! How dare he?’ Not in a million years. I don’t know why she just, you know, flipped all of a sudden.… It was funny because [on the call with Kanye, Taylor] said, ‘When I get on the Grammy red carpet, all the media is going to think that I’m so against this, and I’ll just laugh and say, ‘The joke’s on you, guys. I was in on it the whole time.’ And I’m like, wait, but [in] your Grammy speech, you completely dissed my husband just to play the victim again.”
According to Swift reps, she only had one conversation with Kanye in January of this year, and he only asked her to release the song on her Twitter account which she declined. Per her, she didn’t hear the song until it officially came out and felt completely humiliated.
Kim Kardashian has said a lot of things over the years that made you look at her side eye, but I’m 100% on her side with this one. At the end of the day, the “urban” community was not checking for Taylor until Kanye embarrassed her at the MTV Music Awards year’s ago. Since then we have seen a whole new side of Taylor in her being more “ethnic”. As much as she doesn’t want to admit it, Kanye made her popping. Furthermore, Taylor Swift is a grown woman, people need to stop treating this situation as if they are dealing with a child.
