I’m starting to believe that 50 Cent is the only rapper I know that has beef with almost everyone in the entertainment industry lol.
His latest Instagram altercation is with Hot 97 host Ebro Darden.
Ebro believes that 50 Cent beef with Ja Rule years ago divided the city forcing fans and artists to take sides, according to him hip hop in New York hasn’t been the same since then.
50 Cent retaliated by saying, “This guy said I destroyed New York Hip-Hop, because I didn’t work with New York artists, to cover up he was the program director that wouldn’t play their records.”
Even though 50 Cent has beef with several rappers, I don’t personally blame him for the state of New York hip hop. Truthfully, when you really think about it; hip hop in New York hasn’t been the same for years. The majority of the music played in clubs nowadays is either from the West Coast or down South. Or a lot of New York artists music sounds very West Coast.
I remember there was a time, you can go to a New York City club and hear Biggie, Jay Z, Lil Kim, Dipset, Nas and many more in heavy rotation. If you hear any music from these artists its played for a very short period of time.
The two continue to go back and forth, with Ebro having the last say in welcoming 50 Cent to discuss this further with him.
Either way, I am interested in seeing what more these two have to say in regard to hip hop in New York.
Do you think 50 Cent ruin hip hop in New York or did we as fans?
